Reporting to the Director of Retail Operations, The Assistant General Manager will execute on the GMF strategic plan of retail operations, analyze the performance, and provide feedback to leadership.  The Assistant General Manager is ultimately responsible for the staff’s overall adherence to retail Standard Operating Procedures, CCC Regulation and employee policies. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for financial budgeting, setting goals, and forecasting performance
  • Utilizes management information tools and analyzes financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in performance;
  • Plans, identifies, communicates, and delegates responsibilities to the dispensary /retail team to ensure a smooth flow of operations within the dispensary / store;  
  • Supports the implementation of company sales programs by motivating and supporting the retail leadership team to execute objectives;
  • Oversees the store leadership team including Lead GSAs on fostering an environment that will deliver an unmatched cannabis dispensary retail customer experience foster and deliver a unique, high-quality customer experience;
  • Reviews store environments and key business indicators to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement;
  • Responsible for Inventory Vault processes and staff.
  • Drives the implementation of company sales programs by motivating and supporting the retail leadership team to execute objectives;
  • Building work schedules for full staff coverage on all shifts.  Finding coverage when necessary;
  • Ability to provide support to other retail locations when necessary
  • Directly reports scheduling issues to Director with resolution. Ensures staff development and talent acquisition in order to achieve and maintain operational requirements.  This requires the execution of training plans as outlined by Human Resources and Compliance.
  • Responsible for on the floor coaching and collaborates with Director of necessary disciplinary action. May attend disciplinary meetings with Retail Management and HR;
  • Attends collaborative meetings with the GM Marketing Team to plan scheduled marketing releases and voices support needed for marketing assets;
  • Interact closely with the compliance team to ensure all dispensaries and personnel are in compliance with MA State regulations, in all operations, processes, inventory management and protocol. An understanding of 935CMR500.000 and 935CMR501.000 is critical to this position.
  • Leading CCC Inspection process for the Southbridge dispensary with scheduled and unscheduled visits
  • Liaise with state and local offices, when necessary;
  • Coordinates and facilitates all dispensary / retail store transactions and operations.
  • Solicits feedback to understand customer needs and the needs of the community;
  • The General Manager is ultimately responsible for overall building appearance, cleanliness, comfort, functionality, safety, security, and customer experience;
  • Directly responsible for inventory variances, cash variances and, working directly with security/compliance on loss prevention. 
  • Other necessary duties as assigned by the Retail Management
  • Must be available for nights and weekends
  • Must have the ability to travel to other locations when necessary
  • Valid driver’s license is a must

Certificate/Technical Training: 
Associate degree
Bachelor’s Degree in field: Advanced degree from an accredited university in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience; preference will be given to candidates with an MBA in Finance and the CPA / CMA designations.
Degree in a relevant field

Minimum Experience: At least 3 years of retail management in Cannabis.  Supervisory experience with 2-3 retail Leads is highly desired.

PhysicalRegularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 30 pounds occasionally, includes sitting or standing for extended periods of time, as well as occasional stooping, bending over and/or crouching.
 
Hours & ConditionsMust be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.  Adapt schedule to work alongside the changing demands of the Business. On a regular and recurring basis, the employee must alternate between contaminated/dirty environments to clean. Strong odors may be encountered.  Work is generally conducted in heated and air-conditioned areas. 10% travel will be required.

Must obtain a State Agent Card.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
